The Social Media Safety Firm Adds Distinguished Chicago Talent, Vikram Sharma as President and Rishad Tobaccowala as Strategic Adviser, to Leadership Roster to Deepen Marketing and Advertising Technology Expertise, and Support Commercial Team Growth
After 87% year-over-year growth, Crisp, the leading provider of Social Media Safety, has brought on two senior leaders to spearhead international expansion into the U.S. Vikram Sharma, president, and Rishad Tobaccowala, strategic advisor, will leverage their deep experience and relationships in the advertising and marketing industry to enable Crisp to reach new clients beyond the $3.5 trillion in market capital it protects today.
“This is a pivotal time in the evolution of Crisp and we have no doubt that Vikram and Rishad will enable us to continue to serve as the leader in Social Media Safety for brands around the world and grow more broadly in our space,” said Adam Hildreth, CEO and founder of Crisp. “Their marketing and advertising know-how, coupled with the potential for growth in the U.S. is a powerhouse opportunity to educate and help more enterprises.”
Sharma currently serves as a board member, joining the team in October 2018 following Baird Capital’s investment in Crisp. As president, Sharma will drive Crisp’s commercial expansion in the U.S., using his expertise spearheading organizational transformations for growth-stage tech companies. Sharma has deep background building successful businesses across the U.S., serving previously as CEO and president of digital agency G/O Digital, CEO of marketing and advertising service, ShopLocal, and partner and CIO at Grant Thorton LLC.
“It’s an honor to be a part of such an impactful organization,” said Sharma. “I’ve been continually impressed by the results that Crisp achieves for its clients, the unique market-leading solution that the company provides and its compelling mission to make social media safe. Given Crisp’s extraordinary growth from the U.K., we’re excited to expand the team in the U.S. and lead the conversation on social media safety at a broader scale.”
Tobaccowala, who is the Chief Growth Officer of Publicis Groupe, will serve Crisp as strategic counsel, bringing to the team marketing and advertising technology experience honed over 37 years of working with some of the world’s leading brands and agencies. Tobaccowala will help drive the vision for Crisp, refine market positioning and enable Crisp to be a leader in digital innovation in crisis detection through his Brand and Agency expertise.
“Communication is being transformed in a social media age with far greater opportunities as well as risks to companies than ever before. Protecting a brand’s value is a key concern of not only CMO’s but in boardrooms given its major impact on enterprise value,” said Tobaccowala. “Am excited to help Crisp in its continuing journey to be an essential tool for arming brands in today’s complex media space”
