Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella emphasized the importance of utilizing the company’s AI tools integrated into its products. During his speech in Bengaluru, India’s “Silicon Valley,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella mentioned that there are over 13.2 million Indian developers on the software development platform GitHub. This makes India the second most populous country in the world, after the US, and by 2027 or 2028, India is expected to overtake the US. Nadella stated that Microsoft Corp. believes that artificial intelligence may contribute to India’s goal of 10% GDP by 2025, which is $500 billion. He remained vague.

In the Indian state of Hyderabad, close to Nadella’s hometown, Microsoft is constructing its fourth data center. Its data centers in Chennai, Mumbai, and Pune are already up and running. Nadella is scheduled to make a stop in Hyderabad before heading back to America. For Microsoft, India is a crucial market. While in the United States last June, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with Nadella. According to Microsoft, AI was one of the main points covered during the meeting. With its headquarters in Hyderabad, Microsoft India employs roughly 18,000 people in 11 offices throughout the country. A month-long AI training program for 100,000 developers is just one of several initiatives aimed at the Indian market and talent pool that the firm has revealed. On Wednesday, in Mumbai, the company also announced its plans to provide 2 million Indians with AI skills training by 2025.
