Sigma Computing Hires First Chief Revenue Officer Amidst Rapid Growth
Mark Azad Brings 20 Years of Sales Leadership Experience to Cloud-native Analytics and Business Intelligence Solution Pioneer
Sigma Computing, an innovator in cloud-native analytics and business intelligence (ABI), announced the appointment of seasoned sales leader Mark Azad as its first chief revenue officer. Azad joins Sigma as the company’s growth accelerates in response to the increasing market demand to get more data into the hands of every employee responsible for making business decisions, large and small. It is Sigma’s mission to transform business users into powerful analysts that are able to analyze real-time data, apply their domain expertise, and take action without being dependent on the BI team for insights.

“The advent of cloud data warehouses made enterprises quickly realize that there had to be a better way to take advantage of the cloud to enable and accelerate data-driven decision-making throughout the company,” said Sigma Computing CEO Mike Palmer. “This realization has led them to seek modern business intelligence solutions, like Sigma, that remove the challenges created by legacy tools, like the need for SQL skills, data silos, and risky data extracts so business teams could perform their own analyses in a spreadsheet. Mark’s track record for creating scalable sales motions is exactly what Sigma needs right now as we grow our sales organization to support expanding market interest.”
As CRO, Azad will oversee Sigma’s Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and Strategic Partnerships teams. He will focus on hiring and developing the best people for the Sigma team in the market. Azad will also further define the organizational structure and drive efficient, scalable processes. Finally, he will rally the entire organization around a shared sales process that continues to prioritize customer success and happiness.
“I have worked at a variety of cloud and data companies over the course of my career and I have never been more excited about a company’s potential to revolutionize how we all use data every day than I am about Sigma,” said Sigma Computing CRO Mark Azad. “Companies have been striving to be data-driven for more than a decade but have been hindered by legacy BI tools that keep business users at arm’s length from data, limiting them to dashboards and static ad hoc reports. I’m thrilled to lead the sales team at Sigma and help our customers finally achieve their data-driven goals.”
