2021’s Popular e-Vehicles To Keep Eyes On

Electric cars represented 2.6% of global vehicle sales and about 1% of global automotive inventory in 2019, according to iea.org. This is a rise of 45% over the course of the year. Hence, we are at a point where the automobile industry is taking a huge turn. The chances of EVs becoming common vehicles are just around the corner. Let’s see what the year 2021 has in its sleeves for us for e-Vehicles.

Audi e-tron GT

The next year’s e-tron GT from Audi is projected to have 582 horsepower, a WLTP range of 400 km (249 miles). As far as its appearances go, it will strongly suit the look of the design that was announced earlier. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first part of 2021.

Porsche Taycan — 2021

This electric sports sedan has a range of new features and paint choices. Many of the features are traditional solutions offered at the point of purchasing, and others are available as over-the-air software upgrades that owners may either purchase or subscribe to later.

The Taycan 4S-the base model- is powered by twin motors that are combined with a 79.2 kWh pack. This combination generates 523hp of maximum power and 640Nm of maximum torque. It has a range of up to 365 km and can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds.

Porsche says that orders for the 2021 Taycan will continue to be approved later this year, and expects that new vehicles will begin appearing at U.S. dealerships in early 2021.

Lucid Air

Lucid Air 2021 aspires to be a lot more than Tesla. Not only does it equal the best that Tesla already has to deliver, but it’s quicker and longer in scope. It provides 1,080 horsepower and a projected EPA range of 832 km (517 miles) on one charge thanks to a powerful 113 kWh battery pack.

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

The 2021 Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s first all-electric crossover. It is powered by either a standard-range (75.7 kWh) battery or an extended-range (98.8 kWh) pack and can provide a range between 210 and 300 miles of driving range, depending on the battery pack and type of electric motors. The sporty GT and GT Performance models make 480 horsepower and up to 634 lb-ft of torque. Ford also claims that GT Performance can reach zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The other less powerful models make between 255 and 332 horses and between 306 and 417 lb-ft.

Coming to interior and infotainment systems, the five-passenger seater is fitted with the latest cutting-edge features and comes with hefty storage solutions. The vertically mounted 15.5-inch touchscreen brings the system’s array of apps and features to the fingers of the user. Ford will also roll out over-the-air updates to constantly improve the system and add new content. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system are some of the top features that are included.

Nissan Ariya

The Ariya will join the Leaf hatchback in the Nissan showroom and will offer up to 300 miles of driving range, an extension of over 74 miles over the Leaf. It will come equipped with two different battery sizes; a 63.0-kWh battery, which is standard, and a larger 87.0-kWh pack, which is optional. Driver-assistance features, infotainment tech, and convenience items will be included within dual 12.3-inch displays serving both as digital gauge cluster and the infotainment screen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and in-dash navigation will be the standard technology features equipped with Ariya. It will launch in late 2021 and will compete with similar EV titles, such as the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Lotus Evija

Lotus Evija is Lotus’s first foray into the territory of hypercars and supercars. Just 130 will be manufactured and will be equipped with 2,000 horsepower, a sub-3 second sprint time, and a projected range of 402 km (250 miles). It would cost between $1.8 million and $2.35 million.

The first deliveries were expected to begin at the end of 2020, however, due to COVID-19, they were moved back to 2021. Other track-ready goodies involve a pushrod-operated rear suspension and comprehensive aerodynamic parts, including a drag-reduction diffuser and adjustable rear wing.
