Inspur Information, a leading IT infrastructure solutions provider, is showcasing its flagship AI servers and portfolio of edge computing servers at the 2021 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai, which is being held from February 23-25. Inspur teamed up with IT providers, telecommunication companies and other global partners to explore cutting-edge topics such as the establishment of a global, open edge computing ecosystem, and AI and 5G device applications.

According to the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), 62 telecom operators have commercialized 5G networks in 32 countries/regions by the first quarter of 2020. The number of 5G subscribers worldwide is expected to reach 1.7 billion in 2025.

Spearheading open compute standards for win-win outcomes
Driven by the development of 5G and AI, edge computing is being applied to an increasingly wide range of applications. In order to achieve greater computing agility and flexibility, it is essential to establish open standards for cross-hardware architecture development, deployment, and operation of edge computing servers.
As a joint member of the Open Compute Project (OCP) and Open Data Center Committee (ODCC), Inspur actively participates in OpenEdge and Open Telecom IT Infrastructure (OTII) projects and spearheads the establishment of edge computing standards for the telecom industry.
