Exacter Introduces GridTrak, a Software as a Service (SaaS) Offering for its Patented Grid Health Assessment Data and Analytics

Exacter, Inc., a leading provider of cutting edge predictive grid analytics to the electrical utility industry, announces the availability of its GridTrak software as a service online data platform. “The GridTrak SaaS data platform will be an enormous benefit to our customers,” states Exacter President Geoffrey Bibo. “It allows new ways to view and analyze the points of risk we have found on their overhead systems.  The enhanced visibility and ability to parse the data will yield insights that drive new strategies for reducing outages, improving work schedule efficiencies, lowering maintenance costs, and an enhanced safety component.”

The Exacter GridTrak data platform has another important benefit for utilities.  It allows the purchase of Exacter predictive data to become a recoverable capital expenditure instead of an O&M expense.  “Like other large data service providers, Exacter’s Software as a Service platform allows for flexibility in the accounting treatment of the costs associated with the software,” states Exacter Executive Vice President Michael Pluff.  “This provides utilities new options for making immediate overhead grid improvements without a significant cash or manpower investment.”

The Exacter GridTrak portal is ESRI based.  It allows for flexible queries to view data by circuit number, geographically, see photographs of at-risk equipment, and view specific poles or circuits.  Users can also query by type of equipment, by number of customers on a circuit, or in a variety of other ways. The result is a new ability to identify and prioritize the places on your grid that represent biggest opportunities for reliability gains based on actual conditions-based data. GridTrak also allows you to add key assets into your map views like substations, industrial parks, downtown areas, or other critical points of concern on your system.
