Amazon Snags Indian E-commerce Startup ‘Perpule’ to Raise the Bar of Shopping Experience
The world’s most renowned e-commerce company Amazon has acquired Indian e-commerce company ‘Perpule’. An Indian daily first reported the acquisition news. Currently, Perpule offers a scalable omnichannel enterprise-level e-commerce platform to its customers. Its product line consists of:
- Perpule E-commerce+
- Perpule Minia App+
- Perpule Cafeteria
- Perpule Self Checkout
- Perpule UltraPoS
The leading industry analysts would agree that the Indian e-commerce start-up industry has been on a roll since the onset of COVID-19. Google, Facebook and Amazon have been investing their resources in young Indian companies to reach untapped local grocery and e-commerce destinations through community shopping and mobile payments platforms. Recently, Google invested $27.5 million in DotPe in a joint funding round.
By acquiring Perpule, Amazon is expected to raise the bar higher for its customers across India, which is among the fastest-growing e-commerce markets in the world.
