The report states that, “by 2024, organizations running cloud infrastructure services will suffer a minimum of 2,300 violations of least privilege policies, per account, every year.”[1] Gartner also mentions that, “More than 95 percent of accounts in IaaS use, on average, less than 3 percent of the entitlements they are granted, which greatly increases the attack surface for account compromises.”[1] This is consistent with Solvo’s findings based on analyses of hundreds of cloud applications, which show that at least 85 percent of cloud permissions are excessive.

“We are pleased to see Gartner referencing Solvo in this Innovation Insight for Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management report since we believe we bring a new approach to CIEM and identity security,” said Shira Shamban, co-founder and CEO of Solvo. “We don’t settle for simply notifying developers and security teams about misconfigured entities, but instead, we create well-configured custom security permissions, automatically based on the application’s changing needs. In our opinion, this report confirms our belief that developers can’t take full responsibility for security and security teams cannot keep up with the dynamic cloud environments of their organizations.”

Solvo is a centralized platform for infrastructure identity management, throughout the entire SDLC. It analyzes cloud environments and applications, creates new security policies for every cloud asset from scratch and continuously monitors for further changes like new deployments, which may affect existing security policies. Solvo evaluates the security risk of the entire account, specifically excessive access to sensitive areas in the application. This monitoring makes it easier to prove compliance or enhance security measurements, all with a self-service, easy-to-use approach.
