Modera Recognized for Innovative Multicultural Marketing By GDUSA 2021 Health + Wellness Design Awards
Orange County-based marketing agency receives national award for multilingual animated television spots
Modera, a full-service advertising and marketing agency, has recently been named a winner of GDUSA’s 2021 Health + Wellness Design Awards in the motion graphics category. Created on behalf of Brand New Day, a medicare advantage plan serving counties throughout California, the winning entry showcases custom-illustrated, in-language animated spots that target specific English, Spanish and Vietnamese-speaking audiences. GDUSA’s Health + Wellness Design Awards honor graphic design excellence in projects and campaigns from leading institutions, design firms, agencies and departments, running the gamut from traditional medical and healthcare to healthy lifestyles to the acute public health challenges confronting society today. This year, the GDUSA Health + Wellness Awards received over 3,200 entries, with only the top 10 percent selected as winners.
“We are honored to be named among the winners in this year’s awards for work within health and wellness,” said Alyson Yarberry, CEO and Founder of Modera. “As the importance of accessible healthcare continues to be top of mind, we’re proud that our winning television spots reflect a greater multicultural marketing effort and our client, Brand New Day’s initiative to bridge the gap between the lack of information in minority markets in a way that avoids language barriers and cultural obstacles.”

Beyond the full-length broadcast spots recognized by GDUSA, Modera’s innovative and expansive multicultural and multichannel marketing efforts for Brand New Day include producing a variety of language-specific print and digital materials to serve underrepresented communities and that are essential for getting the 65+ age demographic connected to the health and services they need. From television advertisements on language-specific networks to social media and radio advertisements that cater to these audiences, Modera is dedicated to helping Brand New Day reach members of the community that need Medicare Advantage Plans in the language they are most comfortable conversing in. The agency currently produces member benefits, health education and retention materials in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese languages with the goal of expanding to other languages in the future.
“These awards are not only an achievement but a testament to our entire team’s ability to produce creative and comprehensive work that delivers meaningful results for our clients,” said Yarberry. “Our work with Brand New Day is indicative of a future-forward vision of healthcare marketing that breaks down language barriers and cultural obstacles in the dissemination of information.”

Through a multicultural and diversified approach, Modera is also leading the charge when it comes to creating digital content for medicare consumers — a demographic which has transitioned away from traditional media only within the last decade. As experts in digital strategy, Modera continues to innovate and guide Brand New Day through the complexities of understanding their target demographics and marrying that to the appropriate digital content experiences. Utilizing demographic specific research, a/b testing of digital content and ads as well as platform specific content strategy, Modera has a deep understanding of how target audiences will interact and engage with the served content.
