THine Announces Completion of Acquiring Cathay Tri-Tech, Inc., IoT/M2M Solution Provider to Enhance Total Solutions in IoT and AI

THine Electronics, Inc., the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI, announces that it has completed acquisition of 84% share of Cathay Tri-Tech, Inc., a Japan-based IoT/M2M solution provider, which has become THine’s subsidiary in last December. This acquisition gives THine remarkable capabilities of IoT total solution for customers’ business innovation with IoT and AI. This deal has been done by THine’s treasury stocks and cash.

THine’s synergy effects through acquisition of Cathay may include:
1) to provide total solutions produced by combination of THine’s LSI/system solutions and Cathay’s solution with LPWA for IoT, LTE, and furthermore 5G,
2) to provide new sensing devices based on THine’s knowledge of high-speed interface and ultra-low power consumption in LSI technology and Cathay’s solution with well-penetrated wireless communication modules, and
3) to provide new value-added semiconductors based on both applications.
THine and Cathay plan to contribute to their customers’ and users’ innovative solutions with LSI/sensors, IoT and AI.
