Former Notre Dame Football Player Creates the Irish Players Club
The NFT collection benefits current Notre Dame student-athletes
The Irish Players Club (IPC), created by former Notre Dame walk-on Mick Assaf, is a collection of 5,555 unique Leprechaun non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that supports currently rostered Notre Dame football players. The IPC works directly with 80+ current student-athletes and strives to benefit the athletes by distributing 75% of profits to the active players involved.

“This project was created for fans to support their favorite college athletes and for athletes to connect with their most loyal fans,” Assaf said. “NFTs are an exciting new space, and the IPC will help fans start their first NFT collections. IPC collectibles will also serve as access passes for fans to participate in events with players over the coming years. The scarcity of the collection helps ensure an awesome experience for the holders of these NFTs.”

Notre Dame student-athletes who will benefit from the IPC include stars such as Chris Tyree, Logan Diggs, Cam Hart, Avery Davis, Braden Lenzy and Drew Pyne. IPC NFTs will be available for purchase at irishplayersclub.com beginning March 1, 2022. The public may purchase an NFT via credit/debit card until they sell out. Once an IPC pack is purchased, one random NFT from the 5,555 item collection will be transferred to the purchasing user. After minting, IPC NFTs can be bought and sold on the secondary market through platforms such as OpenSea and LooksRare.
IPC NFT holders will not only support current student-athletes, but will also gain admittance into the IPC, where they can join other holders in conversations about all things Notre Dame Athletics, access exclusive athlete content, and partake in live, in-person events going forward.
