The Funding Story of a Dark Data Intelligence Provider, Terbium Labs

Subhashish Bhadra of Omidyar Network and Rohyt Belani of Cofense Join Board of Directors

Terbium Labs, the premier dark web intelligence company, announced that the Omidyar Network, the philanthropic investment firm created by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and his wife Pam Omidyar, has made an investment of $2 million in the company. To date, Terbium has raised $19 million, including investments from Glasswing Ventures and .406 Ventures. Terbium will use the new funding to accelerate product development of Matchlight, the world’s most comprehensive and only fully private dark web data intelligence system, and to expand its sales and marketing efforts to meet global demand.

Terbium’s award-winning Matchlight system offers enterprises a monitoring and search capability that protects their most critical data. The service scours the dark web for client-specific information, enabling companies to automatically search for their sensitive data without revealing it to anyone – not even Terbium. The private and automated approach to dark-web monitoring and sensitive data exposure detection helps companies minimize the damage, loss, and risk caused by data breaches. More than 10,000 users and dozens of enterprises, including Mastercard, Thomson Reuters, and the Royal Bank of Canada, have deployed Matchlight to monitor employee personal information, customer data, and sensitive intellectual property.
