Brivo Integrates with Milestone Systems XProtect VMS

Brivo is now fully integrated with Milestone XProtect, allowing users to connect entries and video feeds in real-time with access control events

Brivo, the global leader in cloud-based access control and smart building technologies that entered into a definitive merger agreement with Crown PropTech Acquisitions announced the integration of Brivo Access with Milestone’s XProtect. This new solution combines fully managed video and cloud-based physical access control, giving users a powerful unified solution that brings together access control events with video, connecting entries and video feeds in real-time within Milestone XProtect. Brivo Access events are made available within Milestone XProtect along with management capabilities to view events, open and lock entryways, alter door schedules, and view video feeds in XProtect.

“We are excited to expand our enterprise offering with this important video integration to Brivo Access,” said Steve Van Till, founder and CEO of Brivo. “Connecting our enterprise security solution, Brivo Access, with Milestone XProtect provides enterprises the best in cloud-based access control alongside the video management platform they use today.”

This integration passes access event data through Brivo’s API to Milestone XProtect. In the XProtect Access module in Milestone, users have a range of access control capabilities all within the visual context of a map. Changes in access control status (lock/unlock) are fed back to Brivo Access via the API and out to the respective reader to enforce the change.

“This new integration with Brivo’s cloud-based access control solution is a perfect example of how Milestone’s Open Platform gives users the ability to choose the technologies that work for them, instead of being locked into proprietary systems. The unification of XProtect video management and a cloud-based access control solution creates a powerful foundation for enterprise users to build a dependable and adaptable security platform for their organization,” said Dave Nieweg, Community Management Program Owner, Americas, at Milestone Systems.
