Microsoft Word Integrates an AI-Powered Editor for Better Writing

Great news for users writing in Microsoft Word Online! The company announced that Word’s online version will get an AI-powered editor very soon that will help writers, write better. Microsoft is calling this editor as ‘Ideas’ and promises that the tool will assist writers in procuring all the necessary help for better and error-free writing.

Microsoft’s main intention behind this move is to help users that struggle with writing and help them in writing clearer, concise and easy-to-read text. Yes, it is sort of like a grammar check but on a major boost as along with correcting spelling-errors, it also helps in forming simpler sentences. Microsoft has infused machine learning capabilities in the AI-powered editor since it suggests users to rewrite in case ‘Ideas’ thinks that the written prose/sentence is too complex and not reader-friendly. Moreso, ‘ Images’ even suggests the addition of inclusive texts in writing.

Hosted on Microsoft’s cloud, the tool provides an exact estimate of the time required to read what has been written along with decoding acronyms based on a user’s company information stored in the tool’s graph.

The ‘Ideas’ feature is also capable of extracting key points from a written document. This feature is more beneficial for the recipients of the document, moreover, a lengthy document, where readers can simply extract key points and summarize.

Lastly, the AI-powered editor will come with a word designer that will help writers in styling their document without the need for third-party software.

The feature will be available for users this fall.
