Expanding communication support with new functionality
The Grammarly Text Editor SDK has seen strong momentum and delivered deeper value to builders and users following its release in closed beta last year. Since then, the SDK received over 4,000 beta applications, checked 8+ billion words, and served 2.9+ million people. End users are realizing significant value from these implementations, giving the SDK a 4.5/5-star rating based on 34,000+ ratings in an in-product survey.
The SDK makes it easy to integrate Grammarly’s advanced writing suggestions—from leading spelling and grammar correctness to conciseness, word choice, and more—so end users feel confident in their communication. This release also includes features and functionality new to the SDK, including:
- Tone detector: Analyzes the tone of messages to help users be confident that they come across the way they intend
- Autocomplete: Offers complete phrases for users as they type, to make writing easier and faster
- Analytics dashboard: Provides developers with insights and analytics into usage metrics, such as user ratings, number of words checked, and suggestion engagement, to understand and measure impact
- Theming: Enables developers to customize the entire end-user experience, including matching the theme to their application interface
Grammarly for Developers offers an openly accessible, self-serve free plan, or developers can request access to two usage-based paid plans:
- Free: Delivers unlimited grammar, punctuation, and spelling suggestions
- Starter: Everything in Free plus the option to remove user prompts encouraging registration with their own Grammarly account
- Plus: Everything in Starter plus Grammarly’s advanced features, including autocomplete, clarity-focused rewrites, and feedback on tone, engaging word choice, and inclusive language
Delivering business impact across use cases
Developers are improving outcomes across a range of use cases with the Text Editor SDK, from streamlining internal content creation to enhancing customer-facing communication. Applications especially seeing impact include online marketplaces with a high volume of user-generated content, internal content management systems (CMS) and document systems, customer support and communication platforms, AI copywriting tools, and email, chat, and social media management platforms.
Companies like G2, Front, GoFundMe, Upwork, and Hootsuite are seeing positive business results after integrating the SDK into their applications, from increased content quality to higher output, productivity, and time and cost savings.
G2, the world’s largest and most trusted software marketplace, has enhanced the quality of user reviews on its platform with the SDK. “With over 1.8 million peer reviews in our marketplace, we recognize the importance of the quality of those reviews to be a trusted resource for buyers who rely on authentic feedback from their peers,” said Rachel Bentley, Senior Director of Product Management at G2. “Many factors impact review quality, from length, relevance, and reviewer credibility to the way it’s written—and this is where Grammarly’s SDK plays a key role. Following a quick integration, our customers are seeing immediate improvement in the quality of reviews—with 50% of approved reviews per month including at least one Grammarly suggestion.”
