Amazon Surpasses Microsoft to Become the Most Attractive Employer Brand in India
Amazon, an e-commerce giant in India was recognized for the top spot as the most sought after employer for 2019 — Microsoft India and Sony India were second and third respectively. Amazon achieved its highest scores in the way employees perceive the company’s financial health, reputation, and latest technology usage according to Randstad’s Employer Brand Research for 2019.
Other most attractive employer brands in a list of ten were –
- Mercedes Benz at the fourth rank
- IBM at fifth
- Larsen & Toubro at sixth
- Nestle at seventh
- Infosys at eighth
- Samsung at ninth position
- Dell at tenth position
Typically, Randstad’s research covers 75% of the global economy with 32 countries participating and 200K+ professionals that engage in the survey.

For India, Amazon was rated very highly for compensation & benefits along with the company’s promise of delivering on an optimum work-life balance.
Other findings of the survey were the fact that 55% of Indians prefer to work in large or Multi-national companies (MNCs) whereas 9% of Indian professionals were willing to work for start-ups. Job security, strong financial status, and promising career progression were some of the key attributes for professionals to prefer working for MNCs.

The survey also highlighted the sector preference for professionals.
The break-up is as follows –
- IT, ITeS and Telecom (67 percent)
- Retail, FMCG, and e-commerce (67 percent)
- Automotive (66 percent)
- BFSI (65 percent)
“Employer branding has emerged as a crucial positioning tool for both companies seeking talent with must-have skills and candidates seeking organizations that can support their aspirations of realizing a meaningful career,” said Paul Dupuis, MD and CEO Randstad India.
Google has made the entry into Randstad’s Hall of Fame for winning the title for three consecutive years, in-sync with Randstad’s philosophy.
