Versa Networks named one of CRN’s 10 Hot Edge Computing Companies to Watch in 2023 for delivering channel’s only complete single-vendor Unified SASE offering

According to CRN, “SD-WAN-turned-SASE-specialist Versa Networks is helping enterprises tackle challenges around security and connectivity, especially as next-generation connectivity technologies, such as 5G, become mainstream. The company believes that secure SD-WAN can simplify management across an expanding mobile footprint and that older wired internet services must coexist with 5G networks. Privately held Santa Clara, Calif.-based Versa, one of the remaining standalone SASE companies, disclosed a $120 million private equity funding round in October 2022.”

CRN noted that edge computing has blown up over the last several years as trends such as remote work, Internet of Things (IoT), and AR/VR drove the need for connectivity at the edge of the network and brand-new applications. Now, edge deployments can be found nearly everywhere and are addressing a variety of use cases across a number of verticals. CRN’s list comprises 10 of the hottest edge computing companies that solution providers should keep their eyes on this year.

Versa’s single-vendor Unified SASE delivers organically developed best-of-breed functions that tightly integrate and deliver services via the cloud, on-premises, or as a blended combination of both, managed through a single pane of glass. Versa delivers SASE services such as Secure SD-WAN, Next-Generation Firewall, Next-Generation Firewall as a Service, Cloud Network Firewall, Unified Threat Management (UTM) including Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Remote Browser Isolation (RBI), and User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA). Versa’s single-vendor SASE platform goes above and beyond management console automation integration by providing the ability to integrate networks, points of presence, policy definitions, application definitions, agent logic, and data lakes.

“It is rewarding but not too surprising based on our track record for Versa to be recognized by CRN as one of the hottest edge computing companies delivering to the channel to watch this year,” said John Atchison, Head of Global Channel Marketing with Versa. “Our growing channel partner base turns to Versa to offer the best in tightly integrated security and edge computing network services for their customers. 2023 will be an important year for Versa on the channel front. We will continue to add new training and certifications to help our channel partners meet the business needs of their customers and achieve profitable growth.”

Versa sells 100 percent through the channel via the Versa ACE Partner Program, the company’s global channel partner program for VARs, SIs, SPs and MSPs. The program expands the ecosystem of highly engaged Versa partners delivering unique customer value through the differentiated Versa SASE and Versa Titan solutions. The program provides formalized sales, pre-sales, and technical training focused on enabling partners to build specialties and become SASE Specialized and/or Titan Specialized. The program offers the industry’s first SASE accreditation to its partners. Versa ACE partners are rewarded for achieving competency and expertise in their specialty areas and are eligible for discounts, and sales and marketing benefits to open new revenue opportunities.

As the leader in SASE, the fastest growing security and networking category, Versa is the only solution proven to deliver the industry’s leading and differentiated SASE architecture for high performance and security. Dell’Oro Group listed Versa as the 2021 SASE market share leader with 84-percent market share for the unified category in its 4Q21 Network Security Quarterly Report; and Frost and Sullivan ranks Versa as the #2 worldwide market share leader in SASE. Gartner has identified Versa SASE as having the most SASE components out of all 56 vendors Gartner evaluated. Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) also found that Versa SASE has the most SASE supported functions, as published in its industry report.
