Why Do We see an Explosive Growth in Demand for On-Demand Automation and Mobile Robots?

All modern businesses and manufacturing units are transforming their supply chain with high-end automation, the latest breed of On-Demand Robotics is taking real-time automation to new heights. Automation delivered at neck-break speed help to improve time spent to produce, transport, package, ship, deliver and adapt to growing demands from the market. Also, On-Demand Automation helps to customize the supply chain even in low staffing units that need to operate even with low-level tasks such as pulling trolleys, running conveyor belts, and hauling sub-assemblies over long distances.

In 2019, we will see the trends in on-demand automation amply supported by the adoption of these new-age technologies —

  1. AGVs/AMRs
  2. Gamification of the Warehouse
  3. Cobotics
  4. Same-day Shipping
  5. Automating the Picking Process
  6. Big Data
  7. IoT

The Fetch Cloud Robotics Platform provides the market’s only cloud-driven Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) solution that addresses material handling and data collection for warehousing and intralogistics environments. Cloud robotics is revolutionizing automation by bringing the kind of speed, agility and cost advantages that cloud computing brought to IT.

On-demand automation takes the meaning of physical robotics to unprecedented boundaries, redefining the expectations warehouse managers have from traditional automation technology. It is a proven fact that the deployment of cloud-based applications to enable robotics has greatly enhanced the ability to rapidly and efficiently deploy robotics at scale. Anurag Chandra, Venture Partner at Fort Ross Ventures, said, “Fetch’s cloud-first approach enables on-demand automation, which we believe will transform logistics, manufacturing, retail, and other industries in the U.S. and internationally. We’re delighted to be a part of the Fetch team.”
