Animoto’s patented Cinematic AI technology makes it easy for anyone to turn photos, screen recordings, and short clips into professional branded videos, allowing small businesses, marketing teams, and solopreneurs to tap into the power of video marketing. Acquiring Animoto represents Redbrick’s investment in solutions that allow entrepreneurs to capture, engage, and retain new audiences. As part of the Redbrick portfolio, Animoto will accelerate product development and explore new opportunities for growth within its industry.
“We first launched Animoto 16 years ago into a world where creating video through a browser had never been done before. A lot has changed since then and the importance of online video has exploded,” said Brad Jefferson, CEO & Co-Founder of Animoto. “But what hasn’t changed is our team’s passion for making it easy for anyone to create powerful, professional videos. Joining the Redbrick family gives Animoto the fuel and expertise to push deeper into generative AI and expand our reach to satisfy more customers with more use cases.”

In 2006, Animoto revolutionized video marketing with its drag-and-drop software for creating and sharing videos. Its viral success on social media and flood of users pushed the boundaries of cloud computing in its early days. Since launching, Animoto has served over 25 million users by helping them easily create branded video content. What usually requires complex video editing software, long timelines, and thousands of dollars to produce, Animoto allows users to accomplish in a matter of minutes and for free. Animoto’s focus on supporting entrepreneurs, small businesses, and enterprise teams makes it a seamless addition to the Redbrick portfolio.
“By acquiring Animoto, we’re making Redbrick’s portfolio stronger and more diverse,” said Tobyn Sowden, CEO of Redbrick. “With the rising demand for video content, Animoto will allow digital entrepreneurs to tap into the power of video, helping businesses reach their customers more efficiently.”
Animoto will join Leadpages, Shift, Rebase, and Delivra within the Redbrick portfolio. It will operate as an independent company under the leadership of current CEO and Co-Founder Brad Jefferson. Redbrick will oversee strategic direction, using its marketing expertise and blueprint for growth to guide the next evolution of Animoto.
