1. The addition of a new phone number. Unfortunately, sometimes current phone number is incompatible with the AI Pin. So, to truly embrace the AI Pin, I need to let everyone I know that I have a new number and have them add my AI Pin number to their address books so they can identify when I call or text from this number.
2. It has a short battery life. The current power consumption is quite significant, therefore you’ll have to change the batteries often and authenticate again to access the AI Pin. The “annoying” category best describes this. Unlocking my AI Pin with its laser projection onto your hand is still significantly slower than unlocking your smartphone, while being a truly innovative and intriguing new interaction approach.
3. Tidal is the sole music service that is provided. Encouraging one to sign up for an other music service increases the monthly cost of my AI Pin subscription and causes more irritation.
4. AI chat interactions don’t provide useful answers for most common basic use cases and sometimes gives incorrect information when a precise and accurate answer is needed.

This has arguably been the main selling point of Apple’s Siri since their advertising began running for it in 2011, and it is now attainable with the AirPods Pro with Siri.

If Apple is ever successful with Siri, the product opportunity will vanish. Believing that Microsoft and Google wouldn’t successfully launch user-friendly video conferencing software, Zoom became a massive company. Someone may purchase a smartphone that does all the functions of the Humane AI Pin and thousands more, along with a ChatGPT membership, for $700 plus $24 per month. It is highly improbable that anyone will purchase this device in lieu of a smartphone due to its claim of being a smartphone substitute, which grossly underestimates the capabilities of a smartphone.
