XCentium Launches Import Plugin to Accelerate Systems Integration for Sitecore Experience Commerce

XCentium Delivers First to Market Import Plugin for Sitecore Experience Commerce, Helping Clients Accelerate New Systems Integration

XCentium, an award-winning digital consultancy, announced that they have created and launched an Import Plugin for Sitecore Experience Commerce, enabling clients to accelerate integration of new and third party systems into their ecommerce catalog.

Developed by XCentium’s Sitecore Commerce Architect, Sergey Yatsenko, the Import Plugin enables clients to quickly integrate new enterprise software systems into their existing Sitecore Experience Commerce instance. This new accelerator style plugin enables XCentium’s clients to efficiently launch new enhancements in their ecommerce strategy.

The Import Plugin enables synchronization of Product and Category records from external systems and third-party providers into Sitecore Commerce Catalog. It adds a set of pipelines and APIs which take in external data in JSON format and maps that data to the XC Catalog schema using its mapping configuration and then creates or updates records in the XC Catalog.

“After delivering a number of Sitecore Experience Commerce Catalog integrations for various clients, it became clear that even though each integration is unique, there are many similarities and use cases, which could be addressed with the same set of reusable code blocks on different projects,” shares Sergey Yatsenko, Sitecore Commerce Architect at XCentium. “The Import Plugin has been created to address some of the most common Catalog integration scenarios and to allow clients to significantly cut down, or even eliminate, the custom development needed.”

While Sitecore Experience Commerce 9 (XC) provides a good set of tools and APIs to manage its catalog data out of the box, the Sitecore’s architecture enables use of customized plugins to extend and customize the Sitecore Experience Commerce platform. XCentium’s Import Plugin helps enterprise companies efficiently accelerate the addition of internal and third-party systems into a customized solution that solves for business use case complexities.

“The plugin was architected with flexibility in mind to accommodate the scenarios and schemas that can be as unique as the businesses that use them”, shares Phil Bui, Vice President of Sitecore Commerce at XCentium. “The plugin was a key component to the integration with Stylelabs (now Sitecore Content Hub) in one of XCentium’s implementation for a leading sporting goods retailer and continues to be a significant accelerator to many integrations with ERPs, CRMs, and DAMs.”
