SiFive Has Been Building SoC platform for Those Markets with Our DesignShare IP Partners for Benefit Of RISC V On Automotive and Embedded System Sector

 Today, SiFive and Open-Silicon, two leading technology providers of the semiconductor industry have announced first of its kind Design Contest in India during the Pune Chapter of the Tech Symposium today. SiFive will collaborate with the best ideas and provide the winners’ access to custom CPU IP, design support, and help to deliver working samples for the chip. The contest will run from 21 August until 30 November 2018.

At the time of this event, Dr. Shafy Eltoukhy, SVP of Operations and GM of SoC Division, SiFive, spoke to us about the key takeaways from the event and the trends in the technology. What SiFive Does?

In a candid chat with us, Dr. Shafy said, “SiFive builds SoC platforms for connected IoT vehicles and devices with DesignShare IP partners. The end customer will be able to build custom SoCs based on the platform we’ve put together by adding their own custom IP. RISC-V based chips are the next game-changer in the AI and IoT market.”

Shafy added, “Chip architecture has received renewed interest from a spate of startups and leading chipmakers like Intel, AMD, the open instruction set architecture based RISC-V can disrupt the market significantly. RISC-V based chips are increasingly being preferred by governments across the globe to deliver solutions in a fast and efficient manner.”

RISC V Removes the Roadblocks to Semiconductor Innovation, Including Cost and Access to Custom Silicon

RISC-V, an open instruction set architecture has stirred a revolution in the industry and is rapidly increasing its ecosystem. It is being preferred by a leading system, chip design organizations, several start-ups, and governments around the world. The tech symposium in Pune enabled industry experts, students, and engineers to share their thoughts on RISC-V ecosystem, custom silicon solutions especially for the automotive and embedded system sectors among others.
