The 105th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) kicked off on December 1, 2019, at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. We are tracking leading AI and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Automation companies participating at RSNA 2019. In the week-long event, Google Cloud is one of the major attractions. The leader in Cloud computing technologies is showcasing its Cloud expertise for the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry.
What is Google Cloud Showcasing at RSNA 2019?
At RSNA 2019, Google Cloud is showcasing the recent developments in their Cloud-specific solutions for the healthcare and life sciences customers. Google Cloud healthcare solutions make it easier for organizations to transition to cloud technologies. The recent developments include the applications of Managed DICOM services, analytics, and AI. These emerging technologies are expected to disrupt Big Data Analytics and Image Recognition with exciting outcomes.
Google Cloud is also hosting a corporate symposium “Journey to the Cloud.”
The corporate symposium includes insight and testimonials from a number of Google Cloud customers and partners. The session is marked for 3 December, and is expected “to drive innovation in the PACS industry, enable real-world evidence, and accelerate of new imaging solutions.”
At RSNA 2019, Google customers from the healthcare industry could explore new solutions such as the ones that enable the de-identification of data in DICOM images and HIPAA-supported deployments. These offerings are provided to specific Google customers and partners for their core business management.
Google will engage visitors in the following Cloud services and specializations-
- Disaster recovery
- Vendor-neutral archiving solutions
- Next-gen PACS solutions
- Teleradiology solution
- Machine learning-based solution to optimize workflow
- Cost-reduction techniques for Google Cloud deployments
Currently. Google Cloud offers Cloud Code for the IDEs that help CloudDeployment teams to write, deploy, and debug cloud-native applications quickly and easily. Google Cloud also provides Stackdriver Logging as a provision for advanced searching and filtering in the Cloud-native environment.
AI in Healthcare
Google has partnered with Kaggle.
Kaggle is a data science and documentation company for AI ML projects. At RSNA 2019, Google-Kaggle pair will host numerous AI-based Medical Imaging competitions. These competitions encourage AI-based innovation in the healthcare and life science areas.
One of the recent competitions involved the use of AI-based medical imaging solutions for Intracranial hemorrhage ( the bleeding that occurs inside the cranium).
As part of the competition, the winners of this event would be working on the enriched image dataset provided by the RSNA in collaboration with members of the American Society of Neuroradiology and MD.ai.
The prize money for the winner is $25,000.
What is RSNA?
The RSNA is an international society of radiologists, medical physicists and other medical professionals with more than 54,000 members from 146 countries across the globe. They see the potential for AI to assist in the detection and classification of hemorrhages in order to prioritize and expedite their clinical work.
