The Webby Awards has been hailed as the “Internet’s highest honour” by The New York Times, and is one of the leading international awards organisations honouring excellence on the Internet. This year Gismart’s Facetory competed for the best experimental and innovation app with products from HBO and Google. Previously in 2018 the company’s music entertainment app WeDrum became Webby Honoree as Best Use of Augmented Reality for its AR drum kit.

Facetory quickly gained its popularity as a face fitness app with a set of personalised video exercises and tricks to improve the structural appearance of the face by strengthening the muscles of the cheeks and face. The app uses the smartphone’s front camera to scan the user’s face and recognises their facial movements. Facetory’s AR Coach then gives gentle verbal corrections that help users to do exercises efficiently and safely that improve skin quality, combat tension in the face and help reduce signs of aging. The app also has other useful beauty tips and news.
