Lisk Launches New Mobile App for Sending and Receiving Crypto with Heightened Security and Accessibility

The app allows Lisk users to access the Lisk ecosystem through their smartphones

Lisk, the scalable, sustainable and secure blockchain network built for business adoption, has announced the launch of Lisk Mobile v2.0.0. The app provides enhanced smartphone accessibility to the new Lisk Mainnet, a protocol hosting a more decentralized DPoS blockchain and network. Lisk Mobile v2.0.0 also boasts enhanced UX design and allows users to send and receive assets on the Lisk blockchain.

Max Kordek, CEO and co-founder of Lisk, said: “Lisk Mobile v2.0.0. provides the perfect gateway to the Lisk ecosystem for our new and experienced users. Having listened intently to members of the Lisk community, we are excited to reveal the new application in a highly anticipated comeback, offering new features and improvements. We encourage those new to Lisk and our seasoned supporters to download the application as we set the stage for continued expansion in 2022.”

Succeeding Lisk Mobile v1.4.1, some of the major improvements made to the Lisk Mobile v2.0.0 app focus on usability enhancements, delivered through a revised dashboard, the introduction of in-app bookmarks and heightened accessibility to Lisk’s token (LSK) transactions. The improved accessibility to LSK comes following the introduction of Lisk Mainnet v3, and will facilitate increased practicality for those engaging with the Lisk ecosystem.

With increased security being a central aspect of the Lisk Mainnet, the improvements to Lisk Mobile also illustrate the platform’s commitment to user safety. Community-led beta testing and strong test coverage preceded the launch of the mobile app, demonstrating Lisk’s continued enhancement of its security measures amidst network and service expansion.

Manu Nelamane, Head of Platform Development at Lisk, said: “The capabilities of the Lisk network will continue to advance in months to come, so offering users a sophisticated mobile application allows us to increase those capabilities. In fact, our steps towards heightened accessibility have opened opportunities for developers to join the Lisk team, and we are currently on the hunt for developers hoping to participate in the creation of Web3.”

Lisk is an open-source blockchain application platform and was founded by Max Kordek and Oliver Beddows in 2016 and raised over 14,000 Bitcoin (BTC) in its initial coin offering, making it one of the most successful crowdfunds at that time. With a goal of making blockchain technology accessible for everyone, Lisk’s software development kit (SDK) allows developers to build blockchain applications in JavaScript, the world’s most widely used programming language.

Lisk is an industry leader in blockchain interoperability and will allow for the deployment of side chains onto the Lisk blockchain, enabling blockchain applications to scale while still connecting to the wider Lisk ecosystem.

The Lisk network is operated using a highly efficient delegated proof-of-stake consensus algorithm, which is secured by democratically elected delegates and maintains a significantly lower energy consumption than proof-of-work networks, such as Bitcoin.
