Open-IX Announces Beta Launch of New Interconnection Navigator
Free-to-public research and analysis tool developed to add additional transparency and accessibility to interconnection services and internet exchange points
The Open-IX Association, a 501(c)(6) non-profit industry association formed to promote the expansion and proliferation of interconnection and internet exchange points (IXPs), released the beta version of its Interconnection Navigator. Hosted at www.open-ix.org/navigator, the tool leverages publicly available data from PeeringDB to create graphical representations of how interconnection has grown and changed over the years. Offering granularity down to the data center and IXP, the Interconnection Navigator is designed to be used by research analysts, infrastructure procurement teams and industry decision makers. Accompanying the beta launch of the Navigator, Open-IX is releasing a series of graphs and analysis that were generated using the tool.
