Pactera Edge Makes Its Voice-Recognition Service LoopTalk Available on the Apple and Google App Stores

The Move Opens Up a New Pool of Global Users, Recording in Real-Life Scenarios, That Will Enrich Data Sets for the Next Generation of Voice-Powered Applications

Pactera EDGE, a leading global digital and technology services solution provider, announced today they are making their innovative, AI-powered, voice-recognition service, LoopTalk available on the Apple and Google App stores. LoopTalk, is a voice-to-AI / text-to-AI transcription solution that enables the cloud-based creation of voice data, associated transcription, evaluated by AI engines, that produces bespoke, clean, targeted, and annotated, voice datasets for use by enterprise-grade, vocal-recognition applications, such as voice assistants.

Making LoopTalk available on the app stores will allow Pactera EDGE to sample thousands of new voices, languages, and local dialects, recorded in real-life scenarios, and over myriad devices. As part of Pactera EDGE’s human-in-the-loop practice, the person making the recording will receive the AI-interpreted transcription that they can review for proper context, intent, and accuracy.

“Clean and reliable, crowdsourced, voice datasets are the key to creating the quality transcriptions our clients need to power their next generation of voice applications,” said Venkat Rangapuram, CEO of Pactera EDGE. “By making LoopTalk available on the app stores, we’ll dramatically expand the scope of our scenario-based, speech collection methodology and ultimately train the best voice datasets available.”

Native speakers, from various regions across the globe, can sign up for a Pactera EDGE OneForma account and then begin accepting voice-recording assignments via the LoopTalk app, which they can download from the Apple and Google app stores. Once the recordings are reviewed and accepted, participants will be compensated for their contributions.

“Keeping a human-in-the-loop means the speaker who records the audio can check the provisional transcription provided by the AI model and use that to improve the model itself,” said Ahmer Inam, Chief AI Officer at Pactera EDGE. “It’s in synch with the Mindful AI approach we employ with all our AI-empowered platforms so that they are of service to real human needs.”

The LoopTalk app allows users to voice-record simple to complex commands from their smartphones and tablets which will be used to train AI models. One goal of the project is to enable devices such as voice assistants and smart speakers to reliably “understand” people’s accents, languages, and dialects from around the world.

“Making LoopTalk available as an app is going to ensure our voice data sets are locally accurate and relevant,” said Sergio Bruccoleri, Lead Technical Architect working on LoopTalk. “This is a huge step forward for unlocking vocal-powered platforms on a global scale.”
