Replica Studios Launches Desktop App that Enables Millions of Games and Filmmakers to Produce AI Character Voices
Innovative voice technology app offers a growing library of 40 AI character voices, rich performance features to create meaningful emotions, and the first-ever one-click export to Unreal Engine, Unity and support for Roblox Studio
Replica Studios, an artificial intelligence (AI) voice technology company, launched their desktop app with support for Windows and macOS. Replica’s app introduces a seamless way for millions of games and filmmakers to quickly produce high-quality voice over lines and dialogue, saving studios weeks of expensive voice acting reshoots and script adjustments. The Replica app includes 40 AI voice actors, rich performance features to convey realistic moods and emotions, and the first-ever one-click export to Unreal Engine, Unity and support for Roblox Studio.
Shreyas Nivas, Co-Founder and CEO of Replica Studios, said: “Our new Windows and macOS desktop app further offers accessibility to Replica’s high-quality AI character voices and makes voice production significantly easier for games and filmmakers. We think creators will love the breakthrough one-click export to Unreal Engine, Unity and support for Roblox Studio that our app offers and we’re looking forward to seeing the projects created with Replica voices – from games to animations, full-length films and more.”

Today’s app launch news comes on the heels of a very successful beta launch for Replica’s Unreal Engine plugin in November 2020, where game developers and animators were able to explore an easy-to use voice AI tool for prototyping and content releases. In the three months since launch, Replica reported 16,000 audio sessions and received incredibly positive reviews from the UE Dev community. Additionally, Replica’s voices were used in the development of an award-winning animated short-film, Cassini Logs, developed entirely using Unreal Engine.
Replica is working closely with game studios to help them leverage voice AI, and has seen more than 120,000 audio sessions in the past three months of its web app, which has now merged with its desktop app into one holistic solution for creators. Josh Holmes, Co-Founder of Midwinter Entertainment said: “Replica made it incredibly easy to rapidly produce voice lines and play-test Scavengers development builds, before we recorded the final lines with actors. And the quality is very impressive. So much so that most people beta-testing the game think the Replica-generated lines are actual voice recordings from our actors.”

Replica provides an incredibly powerful tool for creators, game developers and filmmakers, and today’s launch is paving the way for integration with other next-gen creator platforms such as Unreal Engine, Unity and Roblox Studio.
Matt and Ben Horton, award-winning creators of feature length films in Roblox, said: ”Replica’s AI character voices have the real potential to be a game changer for producing animated and game-based narratives, particularly for Roblox content creators seeking depth and variety from easy-to-configure voices.”
Replica’s advanced AI voice software enables more expressive characters at scale by producing synthesized speech from scripts, with easy to use style filters that control the mood or emotion of the voice, and more advanced controls to fine tune performance characteristics like pacing and intonation. Additionally, Replica is growing its character library of unique AI voices by working with an ever-expanding pool of voice actors that are able to earn an ongoing rev-share for games and films using their character IP.
