Aiven has received $9 million in a series A funding round. The company will leverage the funds to bolster its cloud platform and to expand its business internationally.
“We see a tremendous number of companies around the world now implementing their new real-time data platforms in the cloud. The new funding will allow us to better cater to their requirements,” states Oskari Saarenmaa, co-founder and CEO at Aiven.
Launched in 2016, Aiven developed a suite consisting of some of the best open source tools that have now evolved to encapsulate –
- Apache Kafka
- Apache Cassandra
Aiven’s services cater to every possible need now and that of the future of complex internet applications. The company’s service delivery has impressed many clients, some of which are Atlassian, Comcast, OVO Energy, et al.
The company is committed to open source and understands the communities and the key roles they play behind software projects. This will mean that Aiven will have to build better open source tools and engage actively in quality monitoring of core projects.
The round was led by-
Hendrik Brandis will join in Aiven’s board of directors — he is the partner and co-founder of Earlybird.
“Aiven’s ability to outcompete established market players and build a highly capital efficient international business is impressive. We’re eager to become a part of the story and continue growing the company,” discusses Brandis.
Aiven’s vision is helping developers focus on their main function of software/application development and to make great products without worrying about Information Technology Infrastructure. The next part of Aiven’s roadmap is to roll-out more integrated tools to cap independent building blocks available in Aiven’s cloud presently. The company believes that this will allow the developers to build, never thought of products before.
