Yandex Launches Public Cloud Platform Yandex.Cloud

Yandex has launched its intelligent public cloud platform, Yandex.Cloud, enabling companies to develop and support web apps and services using Yandex’s advanced technologies and infrastructure. Yandex.Cloud is deployed across local data centers, enabling companies to store and use databases containing personal data in Russia as required by law.

Yandex.Cloud will help companies of various sizes and industries to boost their efficiency or expand their business without large-scale investment. Yandex.Cloud’s ease of use, flexible pricing, and the accessibility of Yandex technologies make it easy to complement an existing IT infrastructure or even serve as an alternative to it.

Yandex.Cloud currently provides:

  • Scalable virtual infrastructure with multiple management options: management from a graphical interface or the command line, plus developer tools for popular programming languages such as Python and Go;
  • Automated services for the labour-intensive management tasks of popular databases systems such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse (Yandex’s open source high performance database management system) and MongoDB;
  • AI-based Yandex services: SpeechKit speech recognition and synthesis and Yandex.Translate machine translation.

Yandex.Cloud offers flexible pricing to suit the needs of any size business. Large enterprises with predictable needs can reserve blocks of resources for a specified period of time at a discount, while those with less predictable needs can accomplish tasks with a flexible pay per use pricing model.

Yandex.Could clients and partners about the platform:

“The Tinkoff philosophy is built on using cutting-edge technology to create user-friendly and affordable financial products. We have long sought a cloud platform with features comparable to those of international market players, and have always believed that Yandex, with its know-how and experience, would sooner or later opt to create one. I believe that the Russian market will duly appreciate Yandex.Cloud’s opportunities. At this stage, we are testing the platform for hosting our cloud services where resources are needed on demand and within short timeframes,” said Viacheslav Tsyganov, Vice President for Information Technology at Tinkoff Bank.
