Mobile App and Gaming Localization Technology Specialists Join World’s Largest Translation Company
TransPerfect, the world’s largest provider of language and technology solutions for global business, announced an expansion of the company’s GlobalLink platform with the acquisition of Applanga, a Germany-based mobile app and gaming specialist software company. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Applanga was founded in Berlin in 2015 by Christian Stanke and Steffen Römer with a mission to provide technology-enabled localization solutions to broaden the reach of mobile apps and games into new markets. Their clients include agencies, developers, and corporations across multiple industries who aim to extend the reach of their products to international customers and audiences.

Stanke and Römer will continue to lead Applanga’s day-to-day operations as a division of TransPerfect, and will report to Chief Technology Officer Mark Hagerty. The two will join TransPerfect’s technology team as directors of the company’s rapidly growing gaming and mobile groups, and they will help direct the product roadmap for GlobalLink with a specific focus on how the platform can be best leveraged in the gaming and mobile space.
