AiThority Interview with Nat (Rajesh) Natarajan, Chief Product & Strategy Officer at Globalization Partners

Nat (Rajesh) Natarajan, Chief Product & Strategy Officer at Globalization Partners

Tell us about G-P, your current role, and your career journey.

Access to diverse talent is critical for growing businesses. G-P connects ambitious companies to global talent, and talent to opportunities.

As the Chief Product and Strategy Officer (CPSO), I’m responsible for driving G-P’s innovation strategy, product vision, and roadmap as we continue to build world-class products to meet rapidly growing customer demand. I’ve been driving product tech innovation in SaaS, collaboration, consumer tech and FinTech for more than 27 years. Before joining G-P, I worked for RingCentral, Ancestry, PayPal, and TurboTax.

What role does AI play in HR?

Technology is tied to achieving business outcomes, driving greater efficiency, and optimizing processes. AI is continually changing how we interact with technology. The role of AI in HR has expanded to include candidate sourcing, success predictions and automating routine and time-consuming tasks. AI is also enhancing everything from content creation and chatbots to customer service and compliance checks. However, we need to remember we can’t take the humans out of HR. Instead, it’s about using technology to reduce complexity, solve problems more quickly and ultimately drive greater value creation.

What is the G-P Global Employment Platform™ and what are its advantages?

Our industry-leading technology platform enables companies find, hire, onboard, pay, and manage team members swiftly and smartly, regardless of geography. It pairs the industry’s most responsive technology with world-class legal, HR and tax experts to support and guide companies anywhere in the world without the need for subsidiaries or local branches. It’s about globalization as a service, helping our customers expand seamlessly and compliantly as the world of work continues to evolve and expand.

Even in the face of a challenging economic climate, the world’s largest economies face a critical and on-going local talent shortage. Through our Global Employment Platform™ growing businesses can overcome this obstacle by accessing emerging talent markets, replete with workers who have the education and in-demand skills needed. Additionally, our technology gives talent in underrepresented economies improved access to career and economic opportunities by becoming a part of the growing distributed global workforce helping to unlock equal access for all to the digital economy.

As the industry leader, G-P enables more collaboration, more innovation, and more success that we all can share – beyond borders and boundaries.

What are some of the new features you announced for the Global Employment Platform?

Recently we announced several new capabilities and enhancements including:

  • Employment Contract Generator – G-P delivers the industry’s first in-platform automated employment contract generator. Now in just minutes, customers can create an employment contract that ensures compliance with local laws for a new team member for nearly every country in the world. This eliminates the time-consuming process of manually creating contracts using offline communication, accelerating the hiring process.
  • New and enhanced integrations  G-P has new integrations with UKG, Greenhouse and Hibob and has added new capabilities to existing integrations with ADP and the G-P open API. These integrations enable seamless and error-free data flow between the G-P Global Employment Platform and HCM, applicant tracking, payroll, and other systems.
  • New features in G-P Contractor™ – Numerous enhancements to G-P Contractor include automated contracting approvals, paperless invoicing, the ability to review, manage and terminate contingent worker contracts on the G-P Global Employment Platform and the option to invoice monthly or bi-monthly.
  • Insights and analytics – Custom reporting capabilities and global talent mapping enables customers to identify global talent availability in regions and countries with their specific skillset needs making recruiting and hiring faster and easier by identifying the best locations for talent acquisition.
  • Improved user experience – more intuitive navigation and labels, streamlined workflows, new iconography, in-product chatbot and new branding make information clear, easy to see, and intuitive to use.

How do you plan to innovate and improve the Global Employment Platform in the future?

G-P’s mission is to drive continued advances in enabling and supporting the ‘everywhere workforce’. In support of that mission, we’ve accelerated the pace of product development innovation and will soon be delivering additional platform capabilities including:

  • Equity – The ability to transact and report on taxable equity events requiring payroll and payroll reporting in various countries.
  • Background Checks – Automate and simplify background checks, making them an integral part of any hiring process, whether background checks are routinely done for new hires or only when necessary, to comply with local or federal laws.
  • Digital Wallet for G-P Contractor – Enhancements to G-P Contractor will provide greater flexibility, choice, and speed for payments. This will allow contractors to receive payments for invoices directly into their bank account or digital wallets. Additionally, customers will have options to pay contractors’ invoices directly from their bank accounts, digital wallet, or debit cards.

Who are your customers?

We have tens of thousands of active users on our platform. Our customers are typically high-growth companies that need to hire the best talent and want to beat the competition to scale and market. Some of our customers include TaylorMade, Drift, Zoom.

How does AI help companies expand globally?

International business growth and artificial intelligence often go together. The McKinsey Global Institute recently analyzed economic data from the United Nations, the World Bank, and the World Economic Forum and reported that by 2030, AI has the potential to add 16% — or about $13 trillion — to the global economy. It could also boost the global gross domestic product (GDP) by up to 26%.

AI automation via digital platforms provides a convenient way for companies to expand internationally. For example, AI provides instantaneous, accurate translation services that improve dialogue, decrease miscommunication, and make international cooperation much more streamlined and effective. With the right technology solutions in place, and the help of EOR partners, IT leaders can lead with transformative results giving companies access to talent anywhere.

Thank you, Nat! That was fun and we hope to see you back on AiThority.com soon.
