Eigen Innovations Commended by Frost & Sullivan for its Unique AI-enabled IoT Solution for Manufacturing

Eigen’s AI-enabled platform imparts real-time insights and process control to the production operation to maximize manufacturing quality and throughput.

Based on its recent analysis of the North American Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) solutions market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Eigen Innovations with the 2018 North American Product Line Strategy Leadership Award for its disruptive platform that employs a combination of AI, machine learning, and analysis to ease complex manufacturing processes. Its adoption of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) enables process clients to reduce manufacturing waste, improve production efficiency, and generate new revenue streams.

“Eigen leverages machine learning for typical manufacturing processes as well as more complex manufacturing processes. Its advanced system allows it to collect data at the edge or establish its own edge data collection if the edge is unavailable,” said Anisha Dumbre, Research Analyst. “Furthermore, it uses video, optical and/or infrared camera, and sensor data analytics to help manufacturers detect and avoid defects. If needed, it can also integrate additional sensors to enhance the manufacturing facility’s quality product inspection capability.”

Meanwhile, Eigen’s solution empowers customers to introduce different levels of autonomy within their manufacturing operations, from defect detection, insight, and prediction to avoidance. Customers can start at the machines and lines that incur the highest costs and have the longest cycle times, as addressing these issues will expedite returns on investment and create a scalable path to autonomous manufacturing.

Eigen has constantly maintained focus on plant automation and optimization. It underlined this commitment with its Eigen Smart Module (ESM) Gateway, which runs in a plant’s operations, automates production alarms, and performs advanced analytics. The gateway then gathers input from the thermal camera data stream and programmable logic controller (PLC) triggers, and is finally alerted by automated alarms to respond to data in real time. With current advancements and updates, Eigen’s software processes multiple data streams on a single ESM Gateway making the data gathering process more efficient and therefore, cost effective.

“Eigen has gained a significant competitive edge with its end-to-end focus on automation and its optimal use of AI to help customers fix issues quickly,” noted Anisha. “By working with customers to co-innovate, create new opportunities, and solve problems in the IIoT space, Eigen has successfully gained strong brand loyalty and has emerged as a trusted partner to its customers.”
