Lumeta Commended by Frost & Sullivan for Developing a Highly Effective Cybersecurity Solution for IoT/ICS
Lumeta Spectre leverages a set of patented recursive network indexing techniques to provide a real-time, authoritative view of network infrastructure
Based on its recent analysis of the North American Internet of Things (IoT) cybersecurity market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Lumeta with the 2018 North American Technology Innovation Award for quickly and effectively identifying and remedying cybersecurity threats before a breach impacts an organization. Its cyber situational awareness platform, Lumeta® Spectre, reduces the risk to companies by streamlining network response and change, and adding security intelligence to dynamic network elements, endpoints, virtual machines, cloud-based infrastructure, policies, and segmentation changes.

“The Lumeta® Spectre product delivers 100 percent network visibility, real-time change monitoring, and threat detection for IoT and operational technology-enabled network infrastructure,” said Vikrant Gandhi, Industry Director at Frost & Sullivan. “The solution employs Lumeta’s patented recursive network indexing techniques and is available in cloud or virtual machine environments. Furthermore, it uses a distributed, two-tier model for the collection of network intelligence, and does not disrupt operations while indexing a network.”
Lumeta® Spectre constantly monitors changes to limit and identify points of potential compromise by pairing with third-party threat intelligence feeds. It has identified previously unknown devices operating on a network within hours of being deployed. It also establishes a bidirectional data flow with tech partners to enrich its own data; for instance, Lumeta can increase the number of device profiles supported in its solution by sourcing device data from partners.

Spectre for IoT/ICS can also identify leaks from protected domains directly to the Internet, and relay command and control or callback activity for data exfiltration. It can ingest external data streams to correlate with Spectre’s real-time indexing data to enable deeper drill-down analytics and help organizations address network vulnerabilities and cybersecurity threats in real time.
“Spectre for IoT/ICS stands out for offering full cyber situational awareness, including context, breach, and segmentation analytics. It analyzes protocols at a deep level, allowing Spectre for IoT/ICS to spot threats early in the kill chain, often before an attack is underway,” noted Vikrant. “Overall, Lumeta’s innovative product architecture, successful implementations, and dedication to product enhancements have positioned it for greater successes in the IoT cybersecurity market.”
