Revel Announces Advanced Solution for Enterprise-Grade Mobile Device Support
Best-in-Class Internet of Things (IoT) Management Solution Supports Efficient, Secure, and Scalable Chain Management for Restaurants and Retailers
Revel Systems, a cloud-based point of sale (POS) and complete business management platform, announced a new advanced version of its Revel Guard product. The newly announced Revel Guard XT is a technology infrastructure solution which allows for complete monitoring and support of all devices in a store or chain of stores. It enables store devices to be tracked, upgraded, and supported remotely for anything necessary to keep the store running smoothly.
Revel Guard XT monitors everything from printer connections, to payment terminals, and can show which software versions are operating on POS devices at any time. The solution helps lower operational costs, reduce resolution time for support calls, and allow uninterrupted operations so merchants can focus on running their business.

“Through innovations like Revel Guard XT, Revel is delivering true enterprise-grade solutions that are far more reliable than legacy, on-premise or blended cloud solutions that still have hard disks and other failure points,” said Art Beckman, CTO of Revel. “The combination of the cloud infrastructure, iOS—which is well known for excellent security compared to Android and Microsoft platforms—and the iPad’s extremely low failure rate, gives our clients confidence that our solutions will be up and running when they need them the most. Additionally, there is an offline mode with no degradation in functionality if the internet is unavailable.”
Revel is regularly securing deals with customers who have 100 or more sites, including some with more than 500 sites. These customers are able to roll out Revel Enterprise POS quickly due to the nature of its native cloud solution, which is also extremely reliable and manageable in the field. Following every implementation, support calls about the POS have dropped, in some cases as much as thirty percent, due to the ease of use of Revel’s solution.

Beckman added, “This is just the beginning. With such a strong infrastructure in place, we have our sights set over the next couple of years on helping locations use this IoT platform to save costs and improve quality by extending the management to HVAC, signage, and kitchen devices. You know you have a compelling offering when, upon release, several major brands totaling around 3,000 sites immediately commit to installing.”
