Senet Low Power Wide Area Virtual Network Named Industrial IoT Solution of the Year by Mobile Breakthrough
Industrial IoT Leadership Marked by Metering and Industrial Infrastructure Partnerships
Senet, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based software and services platforms to enable global connectivity and network build-out for the Internet of Things (IoT), announced its Low Power Wide Area Virtual Network (LVN™) has been selected by Mobile Breakthrough as the winner of its Industrial IoT Solution of the Year Award. This award adds to the recognition the Senet LVN has received from independent wireless industry experts, having been named IoT Product of The Year by IoT Evolution and recognized by Frost & Sullivan as a Technology Innovation Award winner earlier this year.
The Mobile Breakthrough Awards recognize the top companies, products, innovation and people in the mobile and wireless industries today. Among 2,200 nominations submitted for this year’s program, Senet joins an impressive list of 2018 award winners, including Cisco, Samsung, Sprint, Verizon, VMware, Vodafone and Vonage.
“Time to market for applications on the Senet LVN is reduced significantly as the innovative engagement models and rapid scalability enable customers to bring solutions to market fifty percent faster than with traditional buildout models offered by our competition,” said Bruce Chatterley, CEO of Senet. “We are thrilled to be recognized by Mobile Breakthrough and are especially pleased with the traction we are making in the Industrial IoT segment.”
LoRaWAN for Industrial IoT Applications
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is quickly becoming a mass market as companies look to connect a vast range of sensors and devices beyond wired and powered areas and into the industrial environment. This trend is illustrated by Senet’s partnership with several leading companies in the metering and industrial infrastructure markets.
Senet has recently partnered with Flowserve, a multinational corporation and one of the largest suppliers of industrial and environmental machinery such as pumps, valves, end face mechanical seals, automation, and services to the power, oil, gas, chemical and other industries.
Flowserve has recognized the business, customer and environmental benefits of digitizing their heavy industrial products and has launched a strategic initiative to implement LoRaWAN as part of its long-term device connectivity strategy. The company plans to use the technology to routinely monitor pumps, valves and other products for predictive maintenance and other data-driven productivity initiatives.
Senet has also announced it is partnering with Trimble to enable water utilities to remotely measure and monitor water, wastewater and groundwater systems to improve water conservation and environmental compliance, and with Neptune Technology Group for the deployment of LoRa-based advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) technologies for water metering applications throughout North America.
Supporting the industrial IoT and other rapidly growing market segments, Senet offers LoRaWAN network coverage and connectivity readiness in over 80 countries which can be viewed on the company’s interactive coverage map. Organizations looking to accelerate their time to market with LoRaWAN solutions can register for free access to the Senet Developer Portal which provides advanced development resources to register and manage LoRaWAN end nodes and initiate testing on the Senet network.
