New Era of Supercomputing and AIOps: Lenovo and SAP Join Hands to Sweep Past “IT Survival Mode”
In the latest HPC and AIOps news, Lenovo has announced it has strengthened its collaboration with leading Cloud platform and service provider SAP. SAP and Lenovo are working together to tackle and move beyond the “IT survival” mode that had been impacting business results through the pandemic.
Lenovo also announced signing an agreement with DreamWorks Animation to secure its CG Supercomputing objectives.
The joint development of HPC-based AIOps ecosystem for IT customers would help mitigate financial challenges when scaling up in a complex scenario. Lenovo’s TruScale Infrastructure Services offers highly scalable HPC with flexible consumption models that can play a critical role in sweeping past pandemic-induced IT strains and fractures. SAP would leverage Lenovo’s Supercomputing capabilities to take the modern Cloud facilities and services to the customer, especially enabling flexible consumption models for enterprise customers.
AIOps Partnerships are Critical to Build Future of the Post-pandemic IT Industry
2020 has proved that IT systems need to be highly flexible and exa-scalable to deal with complex challenges arising from a pandemic situation. Remote workplace management, cybersecurity analytics, business continuity intelligence, Cloud modernization and virtualization can’t move ahead with AIOps and ML workflows. These are all connected to how fast and agile the existing data centers are — are they adapting to changing workloads and customer demands?

There are numerous questions that IT customers are asking their service providers, knowing they could be caught sitting ducks in a wake of a ransomware attack or cyber threat targeting their servers and IT resources. SAP and Lenovo are creating the future of IT industry using AIOps as a core. It involves developing highly effective Intelligent Automation tools and solutions for IT, AI-optimized hardware, and customizable AI ML frameworks that can be managed and upgraded remotely. SAP trusts Lenovo for providing simplified end-to-end solutions and professional service expertise to its customers.
What AIOps Solves for IT Customers?
AIOps solves the following challenges for IT businesses.
- Scale-out supercomputing at a reduced cost of migration and operation in agile mode
- Reduce the data loss / data breach incidents during migration
- Advanced testing / CI CD workflows in existing Cloud Computing frameworks
- Reduce the trade-off between storage, processing, memory and analytics — 100% optimized AIOps
- Reduced run-time of Big Data Analytics projects, minimizing latency challenges to help offset the potential impact that can have on the bottom line.
Lenovo offers far greater performance with its GPU built for ultra-fast data processing. It loads entire datasets in the GPU memory and leveraging GPU acceleration for extremely fast processing.
AIOps and GPU capabilities go hand-in-hand to squeeze additional benefit for organizations to be AI-ready and easily move beyond HPDA using highly-optimized Artificial Intelligence models.
SAP HANA Taps Lenovo’s HPC Capabilities to Show what AIOps can Do for IT Customers
At the time of this announcement, Kamran Amini, VP & GM of Server, Storage and Software Defined Infrastructure, Lenovo Data Center Group said –
“Just announced, SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, customer edition offers an OPEX, cloud service, delivered on-premises in the customer’s data center, leveraging Lenovo TruScale Infrastructure Services and Lenovo ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile servers and storage that are SAP HANA Certified and Supported. It is a low-risk, turn-key offering that enables customers to keep their SAP software landscape and data on-premises while gaining the benefits of a private-cloud experience.”
The SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud – customer edition, is a solid example of how Cloud platforms can leverage AIOps and Data Center innovations to drive transformations and become the Intelligent Enterprise of the future.
