AI era at Google

In the long run, Google Search will likely resemble SGE more and more. It will swap links for answers more and more, and Reid has said that staying a good partner to the open web while also figuring out how to cite those answers is an ongoing problem. Even while Pichai and others have been proclaiming AI’s superiority for some time, they have urged patience as the firm works to refine and perfect this emerging technology. Being in charge of Google Search is one of the most important jobs at Google. Liz Reid, who has been at Google for over 20 years and has most recently been in charge of the company’s artificial intelligence search efforts, Search Generative Experience (SGE), has taken over that role. Google is betting on AI to dominate search in the future

The man in charge of Search, advertisements, Assistant, and a whole lot more, Prabhakar Raghavan, is still at the helm. One way to look at these changes is as another proof that Google is betting on AI to dominate search in the future. Everyone has learned, over the past quarter of a century, to stuff search boxes with keywords and get a load of ranked links as a result. You could instead use the Gemini model to find out what’s in an image and where to buy it in a world where multisearch is powered by AI. If you listen to your headphones, you could be surprised to hear a completely formed response emitted from the speakers.
