Soracom, Inc., a cloud-native IoT platform providing connectivity, cloud integration, an AI services for the Internet of Things, announced Soracom Agent, an AI agent that works alongside teams across the full IoT project lifecycle, from requirements definition and design through development and operations. This new product expands Soracom’s position as an MVNO first mover in AI.

Soracom Agent extends a line of AI services that the company has shipped over the past two years. Soracom Query, the platform’s natural-language IoT analytics service, lets teams ask questions of their connectivity and device data without writing SQL. Soracom Flux, the platform’s low-code IoT application builder, lets teams turn that data into automated workflows that call cloud AI models. The company has also published an MCP server that makes the platform operable by AI tools. Soracom Agent applies those capabilities to the work of designing, building, and operating an IoT deployment.

Soracom Agent runs in an isolated, secure container dedicated to each customer. It carries project memory, so its understanding of a given deployment improves as the project progresses. It also operates a wide range of Soracom services through the platform’s API, CLI, and MCP interfaces. Soracom AI Agent is built to be used by non-engineers as well as developers, lowering the expertise required to design and run a connected product. Because the agent works within the customer’s own environment, customers retain control of their data and the knowledge their projects generate.

“Soracom began by making connectivity accessible to IoT builders, and the platform has steadily moved up the stack, into the cloud and then into AI,” said Kenta Yasukawa, CTO and Co-Founder of Soracom. “Soracom Query gave teams a way to ask questions of their IoT data in plain language, and Soracom Flux gave them a way to turn that data into automated workflows. Soracom Agent is the next step. It understands IoT, telecom, and the Soracom platform well enough to work alongside a team through an entire project, from the first requirements to live operations, while the customer keeps control of their data and what they learn from it.”
