TechBlocks and NET2GRID Partner to Unlock the Full Value of AMI 2.0 Data for Utilities
TechBlocks, a leader in cloud-native engineering and operational modernization for utilities, has partnered with NET2GRID, the AI-powered energy analytics company, to help its clients in Utilities move beyond smart meter deployments toward true grid and customer intelligence.

This partnership combines TechBlocks’ expertise in cloud platforms, OT systems, ADMS, preventative maintenance, grid operations, and asset-intensive engineering with the NET2GRID EnergyAI SaaS solution, which delivers EV, solar, and battery detection, load disaggregation, and detailed household energy profiles directly from AMI 2.0 and Itron Distributed Intelligence meters.
By combining grid-edge analytics with enterprise integration, utilities can feed intelligence into OT platforms (ADMS, SCADA, OMS) for operational reliability, while simultaneously connecting to Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) for a single source of customer engagement.
Why it matters:
- Customer-centric and operational impact – Turn AMI data into EV-only TOU tariffs, high-bill alerts, and engagement nudges while improving grid reliability.
- DER visibility at scale – Identify behind-the-meter EVs, PV, and storage to better manage transformer loads and plan renewable integration.
- Lower cost-to-serve – Reduce call center volume and improve customer trust through personalized insights without new hardware.
- Rapid delivery – TechBlocks’ engineering pods integrate NET2GRID analytics into portals, CIS, CDPs, and field workflows in as little as 90 days.
- Edge and OT integration – With analytics processed on DI meters and delivered into OT systems, utilities gain real-time, grid-edge intelligence that improves outage management, load balancing, and preventative maintenance.
For Itron-enabled utilities, including PG&E, TECO, BC Hydro, EDF, GRDF, and more, this partnership helps extend the value of existing AMI 2.0 investments by unlocking new operational and customer use cases without replacing core systems.
“Utilities are sitting on massive datasets they can’t fully leverage. Together, we’re helping them unlock EV and DER insights that improve reliability, reduce costs, and create new customer value,” said Sean Bredin, Managing Director Emerging Markets at TechBlocks.
“The modern utility needs to balance customer expectations with grid reliability. We are proud to support utilities in the North American market by turning their AMI data into valuable intelligence that elevates customer engagement strategies while improving grid reliability,” said Andy Duffy, Director of Partnerships, North America at NET2GRID.
