Xnode announced Cortx Sentinel, a new capability of the Xnode Cortx AI Control Plane that checks AI agent actions before they run. Agents that stay within policy earn more autonomy; those that don’t are restricted. Xnode Cortx is now available on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud marketplaces.

Xnode Cortx customers include a global trading technology firm connected to more than 900 exchanges, an investment firm with more than $3 billion in assets under management, and a large US city. Since August, licensed users at its largest deployment have grown 50%, and monthly token volume, now in the billions, rises every month.

Banks are moving agents into payments and operations, and the Financial Stability Board noted in its October 15 report on AI adoption that “opportunities for human intervention may be limited once actions are being taken.”

Cortx Sentinel checks each action against the firm’s policies. A $48,000 payment from an agent with a $25,000 limit is held until a second person approves it, and the decision goes into a signed record auditors can verify independently. Security teams can stop a running agent within seconds. Cortx Sentinel runs inside the customer’s own network.

“Banks want to use agents, but the first thing their risk teams ask is what happens when one goes wrong,” said Kumar Velugula, Xnode Founder and CEO. “With Cortx Sentinel, a bank can stop a bad payment before it goes out and show its examiners what happened. And it can start with the cloud account it already has.”
