Device42 Global Survey Reveals Visibility and Cloud Migration Are Top IT Concerns in 2021

Device42, the most comprehensive agentless discovery platform for hybrid IT in the marketplace, announced that its global market survey revealed many companies have not increased their IT budgets and IT leaders feel they lack control and transparency over their data centers and infrastructure. According to the survey, IT leaders are concerned about visibility, cloud migration, increasing product lead times, and the need for automation to ensure consistent, accurate configurations on all devices.

Key findings of the survey include:

  • 43 percent of IT leaders say they feel like they have less control of their IT resources when they deploy to the cloud.
  • 70 percent of IT leaders lack visibility into their hybrid IT resources.
  • 1 out of 5 IT leaders use less than 10 IT tools to manage their IT resources.
  • 93 percent use over 10 tools to manage their IT.
  • Half of the respondents use a Configuration Management Database (CMBD) technology.

While IT departments faced complex challenges in the past year, most IT budgets have not increased and teams are not only using a time and cost-consuming approach to their data and operations but also exposing their companies to potential risk. Remote work, the balancing of multiple operation and infrastructure tools, and the merging of legacy and modern technologies can put added pressure on an IT team. This is why Device42 recently announced its new multi-cloud migration and recommendation engine, lowering cost and risk for IT teams while supporting the five major cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle and VMware cloud on AWS. This cloud migration solution was designed to help teams migrate without the typical challenges.
