BobiHealth Secures Patent Protection for Security Methods and Techniques for Its AI Technology Platform
BobiHealth – now available in Spanish – uses AI-driven, evidence-based monitoring and alerting systems to support maternal health and identify potential complications.
BobiHealth has secured patent protection for its cutting-edge method for data and model security in the AI-based modeling approach used in the company’s monitoring and alerting app for expectant mothers. The patent (S 12,093,400 Bl) grants BobiHealth intellectual property protection for the methods and techniques used to evaluate data and/or locally trained models for malicious content, which is detected and can be prevented from influencing central model updates or retraining.

“The cutting-edge AI technology platform we have developed offers safe and intelligent monitoring and alerting solutions designed to empower pregnant individuals with invaluable, evidence-based information”
Developed by a team of doctors, healthcare professionals, and data scientists, BobiHealth harnesses cutting-edge AI technology to deliver personalized insights and alerts for expectant mothers with evidence-based information and support. BobiHealth enables pregnant women to monitor their pregnancy by delivering users and their caregivers detailed insight into the mother’s health, monitoring for potential issues and alerting women when their health status could be something of concern – or not.
“The cutting-edge AI technology platform we have developed offers safe and intelligent monitoring and alerting solutions designed to empower pregnant individuals with invaluable, evidence-based information,” says Dave Esra, Founder and CEO of BobiHealth. “Protecting the security and accuracy of personal medical data is a vital part of our mission to improve maternal health, and we are proud to have achieved this IP milestone for our users.”
In addition, the company recently released a Spanish-language version of its app, designed to expand equitable access to women and caregivers who do not speak English.
“Access to health care and reliable information is a particular challenge among minority groups and the disadvantaged, and as we release our Spanish version, our eyes are on the horizon for future language offerings to meet the needs of all mothers,” added Esra.
Maternal health complications and mortality rates, particularly among minority women, have seen alarming increases in recent years. According to a CDC report, the maternal mortality rate in 2021 rose from 20.1 to 32.9 deaths per 100,000 live births, with mortality rates for Black women 2.6 times higher than those for Non-Hispanic White women.1 In Bexar County alone, the rate of gestational hypertension (high blood pressure) increased 57 percent since 2017, and the rate of gestational diabetes has increased 66 percent. Access to care, costs and potential racial bias in the health care system could contribute to these disparities. In response to these disparities, BobiHealth is committed to fostering inclusivity in maternal healthcare and providing evidence-based support to all expectant mothers.
