ECL, a pioneer in sustainable, modular data center design, announced that it has appointed longtime cloud and digital infrastructure leader Michael Glickman as President. Glickman, who brings more than three decades of experience scaling global service provider, cloud, and next-generation infrastructure businesses to ECL, will lead the company’s commercial expansion and global site deployment strategy, reporting to founder and CEO Yuval Bachar. He joins ECL as the company is poised to scale its modular FlexGrid architecture across U.S. and international markets to meet accelerating demand for clean, high-density AI compute capacity.

ECL announced that it has appointed longtime cloud and digital infrastructure leader Michael Glickman as President.

“I’m incredibly enthusiastic about joining ECL at this pivotal moment for the company and for AI and digital infrastructure,” said Glickman. “ECL is solving hard problems in the delivery of high power densities without relying on the overstressed electrical grid or compromising sustainability goals. Its combination of flexible power, modular design, and rapid deployment is unlike anything else in the market. I look forward to partnering with Yuval and the team to scale these capabilities globally.”

Glickman is a proven leader in cloud and infrastructure, with more than two decades at Cisco culminating in his role as Senior Vice President for the Global Service Provider Segment, where he led worldwide business with telcos, hyperscalers, and cloud service providers. At Cisco, he guided the company’s cloud and managed services strategy, built strategic partnerships with top worldwide operators, and helped service providers create new managed services and B2B revenue models as networks shifted toward cloud, SDN, and mobility architectures. He also served as President of PacketFabric and CEO of Casa Systems, leveraging his deep expertise in cloud networking, carrier infrastructure, and high-performance compute markets.

ECL’s proprietary FlexGrid architecture enables data centers to operate with unprecedented flexibility and efficiency by combining a modular design that allows rapid deployment and scaling with a patented, always-on microgrid that replaces dependence on local electrical grids. This sustainably powered platform supports 75–150 kW racks today and will scale to 250 kW+ for next-generation GPUs, operating with zero emissions, zero water draw, and a sub-1.1 PUE by using by-product water from hydrogen generation for cooling. Designed for Tier IV–level reliability independent of local utility constraints, FlexGrid has been successfully deployed across multiple ECL facilities, including the MV-1 site in Mountain View that came online in 2024 as the world’s first operational hydrogen-powered AI data center. It will also underpin the company’s TerraSite TX-1 development, which extends this sustainable model to gigawatt scale.

“Michael brings exactly the kind of leadership experience that ECL needs and that the future of this industry demands,” said Yuval Bachar, CEO of ECL. “He has spent his career helping hyperscalers, service providers, and cloud platforms navigate major architectural transitions, and the transition to clean, resilient, high-density AI infrastructure is the largest of all. Michael will be instrumental in driving global adoption as we scale our FlexGrid architecture to multi-hundred-megawatt and gigawatt deployments, and we are thrilled to welcome him as we build the future of sustainable AI infrastructure.”
