Eta Compute’s Machine Learning Platform Comes Home a Double Award Winner from Arm TechCon 2018

Supporting Speech, Image and Video, Wins Design Innovation of the Year and Best Use Of Advanced Technologies

Eta Compute Inc., a company dedicated to delivering machine learning to mobile and edge devices using its revolutionary new platform, announced it received two significant industry awards at Arm TechCon last week, Best Use Of Advanced Technologies and Design Innovation Of The Year.

The recently announced TENSAI AI platform based on the Arm Cortex-M3 processor received the Arm TechCon Best Use Of Advanced Technologies award for delivering an image classification neural network (CNN) consuming only 0.4mJ per image. A previous published design running the same CNN on a different processor consumed 13mJ per image, a 30X increase in energy consumption.

“As the Internet of Things expands and we move towards our vision of a trillion connected devices, more and more intelligence will move to the edge,” said Thomas Ensergueix, senior director, Embedded and Automotive Line of Business, Arm. “Eta Compute’s platform enables machine learning at the edge for applications with extremely constrained power budgets, using one of the most popular Cortex-M processors to date, having shipped in billions of devices.”

“These two Arm TechCon awards validate that Eta Compute’s edge machine learning platform performs significantly better than other proposed solutions,” said Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International.
