PAVE, by way of participation in Vector’s FastLane, a program that empowers selected Canadian companies to accelerate their AI capabilities, used this program to make significant advancements in the fields of machine learning and AI for visual inspections.

The four machine learning associates working with PAVE all hold master’s degrees with concentrations ranging from AI to machine learning, and computer vision. Abhishek Chandar and Roisul Islam Rumi both bring real-world experience from the automotive space where Chandar developed machine learning algorithms to automatically detect vehicle information and Roisul led a project to use AI to detect vehicle collision damage. Shamisa Kaspour and Vinitha Rajagopal Muthu each received the Vector Scholarship in AI during their master’s programs, with both having work experience in developing machine learning algorithms for mobile applications.

“Our team could not be more excited to have this talented group of individuals from such a distinguished organization like The Vector Institute join our growing engineering division,” said Steve Southin, co-CEO and founder of PAVE. “We are grateful for programs like FastLane, in particular, for connecting us with our new machine learning associates, and cannot wait to see the positive impact they have here at PAVE.”
