SandboxAQ Launches AQtive Guard Protect to Combat the Mounting Security Threats Posed By Non-Human Identities

As credential-based attacks rise, AQtive Guard gives security teams last-mile protection, observability, and automated mitigation for non-human identities and cryptographic assets

SandboxAQ announced the general availability of AQtive Guard Protect, a new solution designed to secure the full lifecycle of Non-Human Identities (NHIs) and cryptographic assets. With the explosion of enterprise AI adoption, one of the most nascent but rapidly growing concerns on the minds of CISOs today is the threat of machine-to-machine systems operating without identity or policy controls. AI is no longer at the edge of enterprise operations – it’s at the center and AQtive Guard Protect was purpose-built to help organizations combat these emerging risks and security threats.

Built on the foundation of AQtive Guard Discover, which inventories NHIs and cryptographic assets across an organization, AQtive Guard Protect delivers deep observability, automation, and last-mile governance for secrets most likely to be exposed. The product was developed in response to growing demand from CISOs and infrastructure teams looking to reduce manual overhead while improving their overall cybersecurity hygiene.

“As AI adoption accelerates, the number of machine identities inside organizations has grown exponentially while the tooling to manage them hasn’t kept pace with it,” said Marc Manzano, General Manager of the Cybersecurity Group at SandboxAQ. “AQtive Guard Protect gives security teams a focused way to manage and secure credentials at scale, before they turn into a security risk.”

Credential-based threats are intensifying, and most organizations still have limited to no visibility into how they are used. These credentials often go undetected by traditional tools, making remediation, incident response or forensic analysis difficult once a system has been compromised. According to SandboxAQ’s 2025 AI Security Benchmark Report, fewer than 30 percent of enterprises have conducted a full AI-specific security assessment, and only 6 percent have implemented protections designed for this kind of infrastructure. AQtive Guard Protect closes that gap with:

  • Live observability and threat detection that continuously monitors credential activity and flags anomalies before they become incidents.
  • Automated credential management that rotates, revokes, and updates secrets at scale to reduce human error and operational risk.
  • Last-mile defense that protects credentials within workloads, containers, and pipelines, where they’re most vulnerable.

AQtive Guard Protect integrates seamlessly with existing security tools and workflows, providing a practical path to managing credentials across dynamic, cloud-native environments. It delivers NHI and cryptographic visibility and policy enforcement without introducing new operational burdens. Now available on the AWS Marketplace, AQtive Guard Protect makes it even easier for security teams to deploy, scale, and streamline procurement through their existing AWS commitments.
