Storage Leaders Excelero and Wekaio Recieve Investments from Mellanox

Mellanox Technologies affiliated Mellanox Capital announced major investments in progressive storage companies Excelero and WekaIO. The investment is strategically placed to keep up with the current exploding storage ecosystem that needs to accommodate technologies with high compute requirements such as artificial intelligence, machine learning & analytics.

“Mellanox has long driven higher levels of data center performance and efficiency by optimizing across the entire data center stack,” said Nimrod Gindi, senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions and head of investments, Mellanox Technologies. “Faster storage needs faster networks to feed the ever-increasing demand for data, by today’s advanced business analytics, AI, and machine learning applications. Strategic partnerships with storage leaders such as Excelero and WekaIO are critical to develop the high-performance storage ecosystem and enable our customers to achieve efficient and scalable data processing and analytics capabilities to drive their businesses forward.”

The company is the developer of distributed block storage and has won many accolades for the same. Excelero’s flagship product NVMesh is a next-level file storage system that is controlled by software code and delivers extremely high performance and efficiency for web-scale performance.

WekaIO has developed Matrix, perhaps currently the world’s fastest file system to handle very large workloads and for optimizing application performance for AI-intensive apps.
