Supplyframe Launches Major New Design-to-Source Intelligence Release
DSI Platform 2.0 adds AI Insights, transformational risk index feature, integrations
Supplyframe announced a major new release of its Design-to-Source Intelligence (DSI) Solutions. This release includes a number of first-of-its-kind capabilities to empower electronics design engineers, product leaders, and supply chain professionals with AI Insights – contextual market intelligence that identifies potential risk factors for commodities in their bills of materials (BOMs). DSI Platform 2.0 also introduces a comprehensive Risk Index that enables product engineering and supply chain teams to have a configured, common standard for assessing product risk across a product lifecycle and the broader portfolio.
“It empowers industry leaders to further accelerate digital transformation goals, time to market, and profitability by improving resilience at the point of design.”
With this release, the DSI Platform is now more tightly integrated with Supplyframe Commodity IQ, providing anyone across an organization the ability to make informed design and supply chain tradeoff decisions with the intelligence and context that they require to make the best available decision. DSI Platform 2.0 now features deeper integrations with Siemens Teamcenter and Mendix solutions, along with enhancements in accessibility, usability, and user experience. The new user experience has improved personalization and added cross-functional workflows across all of the DSI solutions, including Commodity IQ, CPQ, DirectSource, and NPI.

“This major update to the DSI Platform represents Supplyframe’s latest customer-driven innovation,” said Supplyframe CEO and founder Steve Flagg. “It empowers industry leaders to further accelerate digital transformation goals, time to market, and profitability by improving resilience at the point of design.”
“Until now, no one in the industry had a way to normalize risk assessment of their product portfolio in a consistent way. With the DSI Platform 2.0, customers have a new, standard way of assessing risk that’s more comprehensive at every critical decision point,” said Richard Barnett, chief marketing officer and SaaS sales leader at Supplyframe. “Additionally, AI insights’ ability to identify emerging risks and recommend key potential tradeoffs to balance risk, cost, quality, and ramp to volume goals is very powerful.”

Supplyframe’s new configurable Risk Index considers diverse risk factors from different perspectives, combining engineering part lifecycle with external supply market intelligence and enterprise sources of information such as quality, preferred supplier/vendor, and other supplier scorecard measurements. Customers that implement this new internal standard for product risk assessment can align key tradeoff decisions, including evaluation of alternate parts and suppliers against cost, lead time, and source of supply diversification goals.
AI insights and recommendations for part selection and BOM review in design and sourcing strategies are based on unique DSI Network intelligence such as demand, design intent, lead time, supplier risk, and commodity trends. These insights are derived from Commodity IQ market trends and operational intelligence.
The new release also expands decision intelligence capabilities, improving part, component, and supplier intelligence, providing contextual data at the right time to best align engineering and procurement decisions.
