Executive Appointments Bolster Growth and Leadership in the AI Acceleration Marketplace

Untether AI, the pioneers of at-memory computation for artificial intelligence (AI) inference acceleration,  announced the appointments of Renxin Xia as Vice President of Hardware Engineering and Annette van’t Spyker as Vice President of Human Resources. Both new executives will report to CEO Arun Iyengar. Mr. Xia comes to Untether AI with significant experience in high-performance semiconductor design, RISC-V processors and electronic design automation tools. He is responsible for the engineering of Untether AI’s industry-leading AI inference acceleration devices and system level solutions. Ms. van’t Spyker brings extensive global talent management and acquisition experience across multiple industries and is leading Untether AI’s worldwide people resources. These new additions bring meaningful leadership experience and will fuel the company’s continued growth.

Renxin Xia
Renxin Xia is an established technology executive leading technical teams at both startups and Fortune-500 companies. Before becoming Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Untether AI, Mr. Xia served as the chief of staff to the CEO at Cadence Design Systems. In this role, he was responsible for maximizing the bandwidth and extending the effectiveness of the CEO by amplifying key strategies and messaging both internally and externally. Previously, Mr. Xia was Vice President of Engineering at SiFive Inc., where he recruited, built, and oversaw the team that delivered the world’s first 64-bit quad-core Linux-capable RISC-V SoC. Prior to SiFive, he led the development of the industry-leading Stratix 10 FPGAs at Altera.

Mr. Xia holds an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, a MSEE from Stanford University, and a BSEE with Distinction from Stanford University. He has been awarded multiple patents related to FPGA and GPS technology.

Annette van’t Spyker
Annette van’t Spyker brings significant HR and talent experience spanning across multiple industries, including manufacturing, health care and education and professional services, within both established and start up organizations. In previous roles, she had global responsibility for employees in Europe, Australia, India, and China. Most recently she was Executive Vice President of Talent at Connected IO, a product development services firm. Prior to that she was Vice President of Human Resources at Capgemini. Ms. van’t Spyker holds a Bachelor of Public Administration from Carleton University, an MBA from McMaster University, and a Master of Laws from Osgoode Law School.
